 Gregory Frost, Rector

The Reverend Canon Gregory H. Frost was born and raised in Massachusetts.  After graduating from college with a degree in Art History, the real world set in for there wasn’t much of a demand for art historians.  Thus, after a few years working as a hockey referee, construction laborer and clothing warehouse manager, he ended up with a job as a librarian at Harvard University where his love for Italian Renaissance art led him back to the Christian faith which he had all but abandoned years before.  Working evenings and taking courses at Harvard’s Divinity school during the day he then decided to attend seminary full time at Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta.

Greg graduated from Candler and was ordained a deacon in the Diocese of Atlanta in 1980 and then ordained a priest in 1981.  He served as the Assistant Rector in two churches in Atlanta before moving to Los Angeles with his wife Janice, a registered nurse, and their son, Michael in 1992.  As Rector of St. Andrew and St. Charles Episcopal Church Greg believes strongly in a Christian message which challenges one first to learn more about the faith in which we believe and then to communicate that belief to others through action and care. We welcome all to come to St. Andrew and St. Charles to experience the joy and understanding of a life in Christ through the Episcopal tradition.
